Omelet Recipes

Egg omelets are popular in cuisines around the world. Traditional French omelettes are firm and tender outside and soft inside. They should be cooked over medium heat to insure eggs are fully set, but still soft. After the eggs have set on one side, any topping ingredients, such as cheese, meats, vegetables, Spanish omelettes are open faced and cut into wedges and served as an appetizer. Italian frittatas are prepared with all ingredients including the eggs and baked as one whole pancake style dish. Every cuisine has a distinctively different way of creating incredible omelets.

To create a great omelet start with fresh, high quality ingredients, and a nice non-stick medium sized skillet or omelet pan. Preheat your stovetop and omelet pan before adding eggs. Omelets cook quickly (often in less than 30 seconds), so carefully watching and tending to them during the entire cooking process is imperative. All ingredients should be prepared in advance of cooking.
